January Beach Evening

We made a quick trip to the beach one evening when we were visiting our friends in SC. Oh how we miss the beach!

Luke was bringing Samson to look at a crab he had found. So cute!
Samson was telling Sara something with a lot of conviction.

Poser

On our big camera I can turn the screen so we can see ourselves as we take a pictures. Samson loves looking at himself, and then going back and looking at all the pics we took. He'll make just about any face I tell him to just because he wants to watch himself do it! So vain......

Binoculars

One of Samson's favorite shows is Little Einstein. In one of the episodes they use bino's to find a bald eagle. So we made our own binoculars out of toilet paper rolls. It was fun showing Samson how to use a glue stick and tape. After he was done looking for his own bald eagle we put on his show and he watched half of it through his own bino's!

Vanilla Pudding

We made pudding, and Samson wanted to do it all by himself. I was a little scared, but he did really well. He was so excited to be making something! Although I think he enjoyed licking the spoon, whisk and bowl the most!

A Good Idea

Samson had an accident in his underwear today (#1 & 2). When I was cleaning him up I reminded him of going peepee & poopoo in the potty:

Mommy: "Samson, we don't go peepee or poopoo in our underwear, we go in the potty, right?"
Samson: "Go in da potty?"
Mommy: "Yes, in the potty, not in your underwear"
Samson: "Hhhmmm....dats a dood idea"
Mommy: "I couldn't agree with you more!"

I'm crossing my fingers hoping that he'll remember just how good of an idea that is!! ;)

Toilet....Hamper.....Whatever

We have been potty training Samson for over a week now. I first tried a few weeks ago, but we went through 9 pairs of underwear in 3 hours, and we were both very stressed by then. I felt so defeated I never wanted to try it again. But then he kept going peepee in the potty for his daddy after bath time, so I decided to give it another try. He's been doing great. We've had a handful of peepee accidents, but day after day it gets easier and easier. I bought a portable potty that fits easily in our diaper bag, it works great. The only hang up we're really having is that I think Samson must be afraid to go poop in the potty. He's been holding it and making himself constipated. I gave him a ton of grapes the other day to help him along, and it worked. He had just gone peepee and ran out of the bathroom without his underwear on and climbed into his froggy hamper and closed to lid. Moments later he was crying so I ran over thinking he had somehow gotten stuck. But when I open the lid and lifted him out I saw a foot long poo sitting on the bottom of his hamper! Nasty!! Thank goodness I had just done laundry and it was empty! I could post a picture, but I'll spare you! ;)

A Bubbly Bath

Often times when I need to "get ready" in the morning, Samson plays in the tub next to me. One day he discovered tooting in the tub. He tooted, instantly starting laughing so hard it was silent and he had tears in his eyes. When he regained his composure, through gasps of air, he said "I......make.......bubbles!!" Then, he leaned over to raise a cheek, and tooted again. He had the same reaction and response every time! After pushing about 6 toots out I was afraid he was going to do something else in the tub, besides making bubbles! Fortunately, I think he realized this too, and stopped!

Finally Updated!!

Yeah me!! After being harassed by many of you I've just spend many many hours over a few days updating our blog! (except for Christmas pictures, but give me a break!) I almost gave up before I even had the chance to start when I had to call my friend Holly to see if she remembered what my username was! Sad, I know, but eventually I figured it out. Now that I understand a little better how to do this "blog thing", I plan on keeping it up to date. Wish me luck!

Tom's Farm

There's this place near our house called Tom's Farm. For you Washington folk it's like The Old Cannery times 10. They have a furniture store, fudge/candy shop, market, a few restaurants, small carnival, carousal, mini locomotive train ride, and much more. This was our first time there. The train ride is 1/4 mile long and it had up tons of Christmas lights and decorations. It was pretty cool. Samson loved it! I'm sure it'll be a place that we go back to time after time.

Yikes!! No more "eggnog" for mommy!! ;)

Our New House

Here are a few pictures of our house. Some of them aren't the best pictures, but as we finish rooms I'll post more before and afters.
This is a good picture of the kitchen. But also, does Samson remind anybody else of Uncle Ron here??!!

Family Room

This is standing in the entry way. The room on the left that's being cut off is the living room (aka Samsons toy room) The hallway on the other side of the Barney purple wall leads to the laundry room and garage.

This is looking into the dining room from the landing on the stairs.

Loft area. We use as the an office and sitting area.

Our beach day in November

The reason why we love southern California, you can go to the beach a week before Thanksgiving and it's still warm enough to play in the water! This day was so nice we decided to take a break from packing and play for a little while. Family beach visits is one of our favorite things to do.

We buried Samson in the sand and he thought it was sooo funny!

Digging a pool (you can see the start of my baby bump, I should post a picture of it now. Just 2 months later and it's tripled in size, at least!)

Pumpkin Patch '08

Sara and I took the kids to a pumpkin patch one day just to play. They had lot's of little play areas set up, and the kids had a blast. We had to bribe them with cookies when it was time to leave.

Luke was doing something that Samson thought was hilarious!

I think he knows how handsom he is!

Samson spotted the train

Samsons 2nd birthday party

Sara had a great idea of making "trains" for the kids to be pulled around in. But after a while they wanted to pull us

Appreciating the beautiful view! (I think he's actually waiting for a train to go by!)

I love this picture of all the kids lined up watching the train go by
