In This Moment

These two hillbillies kept looking at each other & laughing so hard they had tears in their eyes. Then Seri starting gagging on the to big for her mouth fake teeth & I thought she was going to yak before I could get it out of her mouth. Good times, good times.
Getting his samurai Power Ranger training in.

I love Seri's face as she braces for impact....

Oh snap, lost her tutu....

Big brother help'n a sista out.

I grit my teeth & wait for the day that he leans too far back & lands on his head....

In this moment in our lives I'm really enjoying my kids personalities. They are both into Power Rangers, Seri even more so than Samson. For the past 2 weeks she always wants to watch or play Power Rangers. When I tuck her into bed at night I'm instructed to say "Goodnight white ranger." She also has a ton of attitude, which Sal & I do find pretty funny. When she gets mad at us she says "Whatevew!" then mutters under her breath "baby fathe". Or she'll say "You'we not my fwiend!" But then when she's sorry she says "I'm thowwy I mean. I yove you moon back a hundwed."

Samson loves his Power Rangers too, but he's also really into playing Nintendo Wii Lego Star Wars. He'd play for 5 hours straight if we let him (we know this because over the weekend we let him). He also told us that he's in a band with some friends at school. He named names, I don't remember them all, but I know Benjamin plays the piano, Samson plays the drums & one of the Jacobs is the dancer.

I love how Samson & Seri play with each other now. The definitely bicker, but for the most part they play really well together, and for hours at a time. They both love to be outside & will literally play out there all day if we let them. A few days we did let them. They ate lunch & dinner out on their little picnic table & pretty much only came in to use the bathroom. Except for the time I caught them in the front yard peeing on the lawn.

Today the kids have been busy......

......making messes!

The a.m. mess I actually didn't mind since I got to sleep in. Samson woke up at 6am & went to watch Sal from the window as he drove away to work. The kids love watching Sal flash his lights at them. He never came back upstairs to ask for a show, some chocolate milk & cereal, so I fell back asleep. At some point Seri woke up & just went downstairs (I'm still sleeping). When I finally did wake up & realize they've probably been up for a couple of hours (<-----mother of the year award GONE) I went downstairs, a little nervous, to see what was going on. I was actually pretty impressed by what I found. Samson had turned on the TV, then the Wii & figured out how to get to Netflix & streamed a show for them to watch. Both kids were sitting at the table drinking chocolate milk & eating Rice Crispy's (compliments of Chef Samson) with only minimal damage done to the kitchen. There was a little milk on the table, about 1 cup of spilled cereal on the counter & another cup on the floor & about 7 cupboard doors wide open. It only took me 5 minutes to clean up everything. That was SO worth the extra 2 hours of sleep ;)

This was just part of them mess. Since I slept so late we were in a hurry to get to the park in time to play with friends & then Seri's Wee Folks class...

The 2nd mess I'm still a bit peeved about. They were playing outside while I cleaned the kitchen. I looked out & saw them drawing on the patio & thought nothing of it assuming it was side walk chalk. Moments later I saw the bucket of markers with them. They were coloring with markers all over the cement. Fabulous.

This one's a little harder to see because I had just jet blasted it with the hose. The top one is an airplane & the bottom one is a fish. There were about 5 other pieces of abstract artwork that I believe must have been Seri's.

When I walked into Samson's room to ask him why he would think that was a good idea I was caught a little off guard be his outfit which consisted of 3 winter hats (It was about 80 degrees here today. He didn't need even one winter had let alone three) & two ties. It's hard to be upset when you're trying not to laugh. And then of course he had to say "I'm so frustrated with my brain! I don't know why I did that. My brain is NOT smart!!" So with the combo of holding back giggles & feeling aboutthisbig, I was no longer upset at them (but still a bit worried how we're going to get rid of this marker).

Get to work you little turds....

Solana Beach in January

Sal took the kids to Salona beach yesterday to see Nani one more time before she flies back home today. (I stayed home to "sew". I won't even start on that vent session. It didn't go well). The waves were huge. The kids had fun playing in the sand, except for when a wave caught them off guard. Seri was not happy about that. Nani & Samson collected a lot of rocks, which he brought home for me. After the beach they spend some time at Uncle Robs & Rhana Aunties house were they got to take a shower in the "rain room". They had a blast :)

Sea World has snow!!

This was the kids 2nd visit to Sea World to play in the snow. The first time I took them & it was great. There were no crowds, no waiting in lines & we had a blast. We watched Polar Express 4-D. It snowed on us, our seats shook, it was pretty cool. The second time Sal took Nani & the kids. There were large crowds, major fits (thrown by Seri), & they didn't end up staying long. I'm glad I experienced the 1st visit! Bwahahahaha......
One minutes she's happy......
and the next minute she's not. Apparently that's how it went all day. Fun times. Fun times.
There was a little sledding area (for 5-12 year olds. Just another thing to tick Seri off) that Samson loved. I hope we make it to the real snow with them this year.

Christmas 2011

Seri's new mail bag. She's an official mail carrier now.
Checking out his for kit. Complete with sheets, clamps, rope, finger flashlights & glow sticks.
The stockings were heavy, guess Santa thought they were nice this year.
My best present.
Princess dresses!

Nani made the kiddos capes.
Every princess needs a crown.

It was a quiet Christmas this year, but that was perfect. Nice and mellow.
